Welcome to SEC Investigations!

Welcome my constant readers from my other blog, Braves by the Numbers, and other readers who have just stumbled upon this little slice of blogging paradise where we talk about college football. As a fan and a gambler, there is nothing I love more than football season. I love the change in the weather, I love going to tailgates, and I love taking an entire day starting with college gameday and ending with the midnight West Coast game on the coach going over my picks. I love it all, and I'm betting you love it to. Otherwise, why are you here?

There are thousands of sites dedicated to nothing but College Football and their teams. There are even sites dedicated to nothing but the SEC and their teams. But what I found is there are very few places the average fan can go to discuss in-depth what happened in a game, the key plays, the coaching strategies, and the lines/covers. Most sites simply give you the quick rundown of a game, but they didn't even really watch the game. They just looked at the box score and told you the plays. That's not really analysis, that's lazy. They simply don't have time to discuss the key players and the key match-ups, whereas I do.

My goal with this blog is to pick 2-5 games in the SEC every week (depending on big match-ups), the key games that really matter to the fans, and then discuss them in detail. I'm going to talk to fans of those teams to get their opinions. This won't be the kind of quick turnaround day-after recap. This is going to be me sitting down watching a game-film in it's entirety if I can find it, and then talking with fans about what happened. I want to get a feel for each team in the SEC and how they progress this season, and also get an idea of which way to pick those games.

So if you love getting into the plays of the game, and the turning points of a game, as well as the coaching decisions and individual matchups? This will be for you. If not? You'll find plenty of other outlets to help fill the void in your football life, I assure you. It will be spread out over the week so it's not all bunched together, either. You'll be able to read up on games day-by-day instead of just one huge information dump on Sunday and Monday.

Now, there are cupcake games in the SEC as we well know, and I'm not going to spend much time talking about those matchups. I will probably do what I call a Bake Sale for the week to cover all those cupcakes. But the rest of the games? We're going to be talking the big games. Example? In Week One I plan on talking about Bama v. Wisconsin, Auburn v. Louisville, A&M v. Arizona State, and UNC v. South Carolina. That should give you an idea of where we're heading. I'll also put out a season predictions blog this Wednesday before the games start.

So get ready, SEC Country. It's almost time for kickoff!
